District 5 Crime Analysis Meeting (5:30 pm - 6:30 pm)

Join District 5 residents and police officers at the district station on the  corner of MLK and Locust (2920 N. 4th St.). Community liaison oficer Ray Robakowski hosts these monthly meetings, always on the first Thursday.

Riverwest Neighborhood Association (RNA) Meeting (7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

The Riverwest Neighborhood Association (RNA) holds its general meeting every second Tuesday of the month, usually at 7pm. Check the RNA website at www.my-rna.org to confirm time and location information.

RNA is a 401(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization with an elected board and annual elections open to all members. There are no membership fees or dues, but donations are encouraged and accepted.

Membership and voting privileges are granted to anyone who lives in Riverwest, which means west and north of the river, south of Capitol Dr., and east of Holton St. with an extended area out to Richards St. in Harambee and Williamsburgh Heights. People and organizations outside that area may apply for an affiliate membership, which does not include voting privileges.

Meets every third Tuesday in Schlitz Park with the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) for District 1, Mark Buetow, at Libiamo's restaurant (221 W. Galena).

3rd Annual Run/Walk For Peace (8:30 am - 1:30 pm)
Bring your whole family (even the dog!) and join us for a fun Fall 5k race, then stay for a picnic!  This 5k (3.1 mile) USAT&F certified course travels along the beautiful Root River Parkway next to Whitnall Park.  A free children's race will also take place for children 10 and under, as well as other children's activities.  Afterward, there will be a picnic.  Please bring a dish to pass.  Don't forget to bring some extra cash for the raffle!

Dogs are welcome on the race course, but please be courteous of others, keep your dog on a leash and pick up after him.  Water bowls and dog treats will be provided.

The race will take place Saturday, September 25th at 10:00am. The cost of the race is $20 before 9/15, $25 after.  Proceeds from the race will benefit the Peace Education Project, the educational wing of Peace Action Wisconsin.  The start and finish will be at picnic area #1 on the Root River Parkway. Blue Sky Sustainability Lunch (12:00 - noon - 1:00 pm)
Inspired by the success of Green Drinks Milwaukee. The idea is to get folks together to talk about sustainability, to network and build momentum for the sea change in sustainable consciousness that is on its way! Buy your own lunch and/or beverages, and get in there and meet people! No RSVP necessary and feel free to pass this around. Every fourth Tuesday at NOON held at the Milwaukee Public Market, 400 N.
