This log provides detailed crime trends for July focusing on Southeast Harambee (between King, Locust, Holton, and North) plus Riverwest and Brewers Hill. Only robberies, gun crimes, shots fired reports and possible arson are included. Burglary and assaults are omitted. The July burglary trend was between Locust, Buffum, Humboldt and the River with over 30 reported burglaries or illegal entry attempts in that area. This data comes mainly from police squad dispatch logs which may or may not eventually correspond to an official incident report. 

Main Hot Spot: 2200-2300 Holton and Buffum. 11 Arrests were made between July 1 and August 1 around North, Richards, Buffum, and Meinecke. That is half of all the arrests made in that time period between Locust, King, Garfield, and the river.) Buffum north of Locust (Harambee North) has also had many shots fired reports. The majority of all shots/shootings cluster on or near Buffum in the 2600-3200 blocks. 

Quiet Spots: Armed robberies and reported shots have not been happening in: Halyard Park, King Drive to 2nd St. south of Locust, Brewers Hill south of Garfield, and Riverwest north of the Linear Park bike path/old rail corridor.

Neighborhood Task Force (NTF) units active in the area use another channel, which is not monitored and is not a source for the incidents logged here. 

NB: "Shots fired" indicates a report of audible gunshots received by police when there is no information about a shooter or victim. The address given usually indicates the location of the person who reported hearing the shots or their guess as to where the shots originated. Multiple reports of shots fired in close proximity and time indicate multiple callers reporting the same shots.
