UWM will be holding informational sessions asking for public feedback as their master planners--consultants from Hammel, Green and Abrahamson, Inc. (HGA) and Sasaki Associates will be on campus--present a draft of the campus master plan on September 29 - 30. UWM also finds itself re-thinking the placement of a new engineering campus that was originally slated to go on undeveloped park land--the County Grounds in Wauwatosa--which was widely opposed by environmental (http://www.milwaukeeriverkeeper.org/) and urbanist (http://www.uwmdowntown.org/) advocacy groups. Learn more about the land's history here. To read more about the development and its possible merging with UWM's Freshwater Sciences building go to Jim Rowen's blog. The Public Meetings will be held: 6:30 pm – 8 pm, Tuesday, September 29, UWM Union, Wisconsin Room. If you are unable to attend one of these meetings, you can contact the UWM Master Planners here. The campus community will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the draft plan throughout the month of October. Based on feedback they receive, the consultants will develop a final master plan, which they plan to present in December.
