Amelia Klem Osterud
Wednesday, December 9, 7pm

NEW PROSE SERIES- FREE

Amelia Klem Osterud's The Tattooed LadyLiving in a time when it was scandalous to show even a bit of ankle, a daring group of women covered their bodies in tattoos and traveled the country, performing nearly nude for all to see. The first book of its kind, The Tattooed Ladyuncovers the true stories behind these women. Combining thorough research with more than a hundred historical photos, labor history, circus life, and the marked impression left on contemporary performers,The Tattooed Lady pays tribute to these unique and remarkable women.

Amelia Klem Osterud is an academic librarian from Milwaukee who is working diligently on becoming heavily tattooed, Amelia Klem Osterudjust in case she ever wants a second career as a tattooed lady. Hours for Jerome is simply the most beautifully photographed film that I've ever seen; here we enter the realm of the compassionate and the full achievement of what film can do cinemagraphically is achieved. It is a privilege to experience the thoughtful unfolding of these images.
