Dream bikes coming to King Dr.
Dream Bikes, which has a shop in Madison, is coming to the 2000 block of King Drive in January. They are a non-profit that takes donated bikes and refurbish them using teenagers from the neighborhood, usually in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club. They kids are trained in the whole business (repair, sales, management, etc.) and bootstrapped into the local workforce over about 2 years.
The bikes they work on are sold at a very reasonable price to the local community. They will also have a selection of accessories to go with the bikes. You can also bring in your bike for repairs at what they describe as 25% to 50% less than most bike shops.
